SUMMARY:

In partnership with the Project Manager, the Project Engineer has a responsibility for a project’s financial performance and tam communication.  The Project Engineer is responsible for the successful delivery of medium to large building projects, developing project concepts and budgets, completing site assessments, and writing reports to create solutions for our clients.  This position is also responsible for managing and mentoring a team of Engineers and Designers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Licensed PE
  • 10+ years’ project engineering experience in all phases of project.
  • Experience working in integrated teams.
  • Leadership ability working in a consultancy environment.
  • Experience with healthcare, government, and education project types
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced technical knowledge in Engineering and a broad knowledge of engineering systems, calculations, and construction methods.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, BIM
  • ARCH FLASH experience a plus
  • Experience with complex analysis tools for electrical design.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises preparation of technical drawings and assessment reports.
  • Partners with the Project Managers and Project Architects to review project manpower estimates, project communications, budget monitoring and inputs, organizing deliverables, and setting project standards for delivery.
  • Development of typical details, specifications, and drawing standards, including development of Revit standards in coordination with the team.
  • Keeps abreast of industry and technology changes and trends, and recommends changes in approach and services, as appropriate.
  • Provide design inputs and reviews of other engineer’s projects to verify it conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards.
  • Performs site visit surveys to determine engineering strategies, and to document and evaluate existing systems.
  • Visits project sites during construction for reviews of quality, progress, and compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Mentors engineering staff.
  • Responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support, as necessary.
  • Works on developing a positive relationship of trust with the team.
  • Provides technical support and project communications to team, as required.
  • Participates in team meetings to help resolve project issues, coordination with other disciplines, schedule adherence, technical issues.
  • As needed, provides support to Business Development, including write-ups of key aspects of projects and presentation of work at industry events.
  • Works with Marketing in preparing submittals and qualifications.
