SUMMARY: The Project Manager is responsible for the project financial performance and team communication. Responsible for developing project scope of services, schedules, and fee and budget during the contract development process. Manages project man hours, directs team members and consultants at all levels to ensure the project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction. Ensures work is completed as planned and in conformance with the design intent. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent in education or experience required.
  • 6+ years’ experience in architectural practice with prior management experience in all phases of projects through post-occupancy.
  • Licensed Architect with current registration preferred.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ability to assist in developing and validating project scope and fee, budget, and scope of services during the contract development process.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of a complex scope and lead multiple project teams.
  • Ability to track outstanding proposals and get signed proposals and notice to proceed.
  • Responsible for maintaining client relationships throughout project. Keeps client apprised of project progress on regular basis.
  • Ability to leverage relationships with clients to maintain invoice collections timely, within 60 days.
  • Consults with client to determine function and spatial requirements, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
  • Ability to integrate engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Revit.
  • Knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer products.
  • Assists in preparing project presentations. May participate and/or lead client presentations.

Project Architect

SUMMARY: In partnership with the Project Manager and Project Designer, the Project Architect has responsibility for the project’s financial performance and team communication. The Project Architect is responsible for the issuance and content of deliverables, technical content of Johnston documents, coordination of disciplines and consultants, and for the supervision of all staff producing documents and is responsible for the implementation of Construction Phase Services in collaboration with the Project Manager. The Project Architect is responsible for securing QA reviews and the implementation of comments. Must be a licensed Architect and is responsible for signing/sealing drawings. Needs to participate in and contribute to a culture of technical excellence. REQUIRED EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent.
  • 6+ years’ design experience.
  • 5 years’ experience working on architecturally significant buildings.
  • Licensed Architect with current registration.
  • LEED accredited is a plus.
SKILLS OF THE JOB:
  • Ability to monitor design process to ensure the overall design intent of the project is properly executed and incorporated into the detailed documentation.
  • Responsible for technical resolution and coordination of a project.
  • Effective communication with client representatives to verify design requirements and specifications, progress reviews, and delivery of final presentation.
  • Ability to perform product research. Assists Project Manager in writing specifications.
  • Knowledge to check completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracy.

Senior Design Professional

SUMMARY: Coordinates and/or undertakes the design development, production, and delivery of complex architectural projects as a member of the project design team or on own projects. Assignments require independent action and decision making, as well as ability to supervise others. This position reports to the Director of Architecture. REQUIRED EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture required.
  • Six plus years’ experience in architecture.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and integrated design.
  • LEED credential is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Revit and BIM required.
  • Proficiency in Newforma preferred.
  • Proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max, SketchUp, Illustrator.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in project coordination.
