Johnston is providing project management, programming, architecture, interior design and electrical engineering services for the renovation of the Acute Cancer Care Center.

PROJECT DETAILS

This project involves the renovation of the Acute Cancer Care Center (“ACCC”), formerly known as the Emergency Center, and certain adjacent space with an overall objective of expanding the space allocated to the Acute Cancer Care Center to facilitate operational improvements and enhance the patient experience. The renovation is to occur in phases so that the ACCC is able to continue treating patients.

The scope of the work is to redevelop the first floor services of the ACCC to better function for its fast-paced environment, improve patient experience and staff efficiencies. The first floor (9,100 SF) will be reconfigured in phases to achieve the desired outcome. The exterior entrances are to remain as is unless otherwise determined. The second floor renovation (21,300 SF) will stay within the boundaries of the existing clinic with minor reconfiguration of space. It is anticipated that all of the patient facing rooms will be completely upgraded. Mock-ups of the new room layouts and head walls are to be pursued as part of the design process. Renovations will consist of upgrading all architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and data infrastructure as necessary; extensive field investigation and documentation is anticipated during the pre-design and design phases. Construction, as noted above, will be completed in multiple phases to limit any impact to ongoing operations of the ACCC.
