Designed for resilience, security, and operational excellence, the City of Pearland’s Public Safety Building brings courts and law enforcement under one roof to better serve and protect the community.
PROJECT DETAILS
In collaboration with Police Facility Design Group, our team provided full MEP engineering design, civil engineering, and construction administration services for the new City of Pearland Public Safety Building—a 78,000-square-foot facility designed to consolidate essential municipal services under one roof.
This state-of-the-art building integrates the city’s municipal court with the police and detective headquarters, improving efficiency and collaboration across departments. The facility includes administrative offices, holding cells, a sally port, booking areas, a reconfigured courtroom with jury deliberation spaces, and office accommodations for the county clerk. A secure lobby welcomes the public while ensuring a high level of safety and control throughout the building.
From a systems standpoint, the design exceeds ASHRAE standards for mechanical performance, reflecting Pearland’s commitment to energy efficiency and long-term operational sustainability. The electrical systems include comprehensive life safety and emergency infrastructure, such as fire alarms, integrated locking mechanisms, security surveillance, and communications networks. The facility also features 100% emergency generator coverage to ensure uninterrupted operation in the event of a power outage.
Critical to the City’s long-term emergency preparedness, the building includes the MEP infrastructure to support both a future Emergency Operations Center and radio tower, providing enhanced capabilities for crisis response and public safety coordination.
