Harris County 911 Emergency Call Center

Partnered with Kirksey Architecture, Johnston provided MEP engineering design for the 42,000 SF facility that is designed to withstand extreme weather events and potential terrorist attacks. With three emergency backup generators, including two natural gas generators and one diesel generator, the facility can operate several days if such an event occurs.
 

The center also features 72 call-taker stations with upgraded software, a laundry room, and sleeping quarters. LEED Silver Certified.
