Architectural Summer Internship – Dallas

SUMMARY:

The Summer Architectural Intern supports the design team in the development and documentation of architectural projects across a variety of sectors. Responsibilities include assisting with drawings, renderings, and design development; conducting research on materials, codes, and standards; and supporting coordination with engineering disciplines. The intern will gain hands-on experience with industry software, participate in team meetings, and contribute to project deliverables under the guidance of licensed architects and senior staff. This role provides exposure to all phases of design, from concept through construction documentation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited architecture program (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field)
  • Completion of at least two to three years of coursework toward an architecture degree preferred Basic knowledge of architectural design principles, building systems, and construction documentation.
  • Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and/or Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Strong academic standing and a demonstrated interest in architecture and the built environment

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the preparation of architectural drawings, models, and presentation materials Support design development through research, precedent studies, and material selection Help produce construction documents, including plans, elevations, and details Coordinate with internal disciplines (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) to integrate building systems Participate in team meetings, design reviews, and project discussions Conduct site visits and document existing conditions as needed Assist with code research and compliance reviews Organize project files and maintain documentation standards Provide general support to project teams to help meet deadlines and project goals
