Johnston teamed with PGAL to create the scope for the assessment of the Criminal Justice Center after Hurricane Harvey.

PROJECT DETAILS

Johnston performed a visual inspection and a preliminary evaluation of the to determine the extent of the damage to the building’s Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.


Scope of work included:
Restoration and Repairs
Mitigation and Protection including the installation of a flood proof barrier around the perimiter of the buidling and relocating all critical building system MEP/FP equipment from the basement to the first floor and located on platforms 4’ above the finish floor.


Improvements and Reprogramming of First Floor lobby area to alleviate congestion at the Security Screening and Public Elevator lobby areas.

The addition of five high-rise traction elevators
First-floor lobby security queuing expansion and building access improvements
Updated mitigation flood barriers throughout the site
